Learning Let it Ride poker

Let it Ride poker involves playing against the dealer rather than each other. The ultimate goal is to have the highest hand at the end of the game, while still having the maximum bet on the table. Each player ends up with five cards should they choose to play out the hand.

Basic rules

Game play starts with each player making an equal bet. Next, all the players and the dealer are dealt three cards each. The dealer cards remain face down in the middle of the table. Players then choose whether to withdraw their bet or “let it ride” by continuing to play. The first community card is discarded and the second turned over. Players then make the same decision again. The dealer displays the final community card and the game ends.

Developing a strategy

The best hand and payout come with a royal flush. If your first three cards are part of a royal flush, let it ride. A pair of tens or a three-card straight flush also mean you should let it ride.

Basics of Poker

Poker is a commonly played casino game. Although it has been around for a very long time, only recently has poker gained widespread popularity as a result of its online presence and consequent easy accessibility. There are many variations of poker, examples being Texas Hold’em Poker, and Omaha Hold’em Poker. Despite the large variation of poker styles however, all of them share common rules and playing styles.

All poker games are played with the standard 52-card deck, using the entire deck, with five card hands. Some variations of poker use the Joker card. All poker games start with players being dealt cards, followed by a betting round. The first player to bet depends on the variant of poker being played.

When it is time for a player to decide on what to do in a betting round, the player can choose to Bet, Call, Raise, Check or Fold.  Bet, as the name suggests, means that a bet is placed. Call, matches a bet which has been placed. Raise means to raise the amount bet. Call passes on the betting to the next player, only if there is no bet. Fold means that a player withdraws their cards from that particular game, and has no further interest in the betting pot for that game.

The betting round ends when all players have either placed bets or folded. Following the first betting round, there are usually a few rounds of card dealing, followed by subsequent betting rounds until the showdown. During the showdown, players will reveal their hands.

The highest hand is the straight flush, followed by a royal flush.  Usually, the player with the highest hand wins in a game of poker. However, some variations of poker split the pot between the player with the highest and lowest hand.

Bingo Through the Ages

It is commonly thought that bingo originated in the 1500s, as a kind of lottery played by the Italians. The popular pastime was then taken up in Germany during the 1800s to help teach mathematics to children.  Bingo was popular throughout the early 1900s in Europe, but it was not until 1929 that it was properly introduced to America, when a toy salesman called Edwin S. Lowe is popularly believed to have brought the game back from a business trip to Italy.  Over time, bingo has diversified into several different varieties, and would be unrecognizable to its Italian forerunners. In the US today, bingo is a 75 ball game where players are given a 5×5 gridded square card. Numbers that are called out are to be crossed off when the player matches them on their card, but it is only when all the numbers have been crossed off that the player can shout “bingo” and win the prize fund.

A slightly different version of bingo is played in the United Kingdom and across certain parts of Europe, and this stems from the 1960s when bingo became a popular game in commercially run bingo halls across the country. Ninety ball bingo, as it is officially known, is played with a 9×3 square grid, and again, the balls are called and out and crossed off until the first player has marked off all of the numbers and can shout ‘Bingo!’.

When bingo was being played in halls across the country, it became one of the most popular group activities of the day, with people returning many times and feeling a sense of companionship as they formed communities around the club with other regular players.

When the internet started to become more widely available, the gates of communication opened up across the world, and companies had to keep up with this development.  Online gambling has become a common pastime, and now thousands upon thousands of bingo sites offer online bingo games to the masses.  Most sites offer chat features alongside games, and encourage players to talk more than they would have done in traditional bingo halls.

Baccarat – the Game of Royalty

The king of the high stakes table game has always been baccarat. Baccarat is known as the game of royalty and for good reason. There are seldom betting limits, and the game is completely one of chance. This is a true gamblers delight.

Baccarat is played with eight complete decks of cards that are dealt by a croupier. The object of the game is to get as close to a score of 9 as possible. Before the hand is dealt, the player chooses to bet on either the player, the banker or a tie.

In baccarat, face cards are worth zero, aces are worth one, and all other cards play as face value. The dealer deals two cards to both the player and dealer side of the table face up. If the total of the cards is 8 or 9 on either side, the hand stands as a “natural” hand, otherwise it gets a third card. The cards are added together, and the hand closest to 9 wins.

Bets on the player pay 1:1; on the banker 1:1 minus a five per cent banker commission; and on a tie pay 8:1.

How to play fruit machines

Fruit machines, which are also sometimes called ‘one-armed bandits’, ‘slot machines’ or simply ‘slots’ are gambling machines with three or more reels that spin as an operating button is pushed. They are commonly found in casinos, public houses and amusement arcades.

To play a fruit machine, it is necessary to first insert payment. Machines accept coins, tokens or bar-coded tickets. Next, the player presses a button or in older machines pulls a lever, to spin the reels in the hope that they will stop in a winning combination. Many machines offer a ‘hold’ function, enabling the player to retain part of a line, while spinning the other reels. For example, if a player spun two cherries he or she could then hold that section of the line and spin again, in the hope that another cherry would come up to complete the line. Some may also have a ‘nudge’ function, meaning lines can be shifted up or down a space in order to create a winning row. If the player achieves a win, the machine pays out.

A basic fruit machine may only have three reels, offering a smaller number of possible wins. Other, more modern machines may have five or more reels, with a huge number of possible combinations, in verticals, diagonals, v-shapes and so on. However, having an increased number of possible winning combinations does not always mean more jackpot money. Always check the front of the machine to see which combinations the machine will pay out for.

Fruit machines are essentially random number generators and therefore each spin of the reels is a game of chance. Having said that, many enthusiasts still firmly believe that a game may be won through some element of skill or playing technique. Players may even have a favourite machine they return to time and time again.

The Ever-Growing Choice in Football Betting Markets

Many years ago football betting was a simple choice of win, lose or draw. However, today it has become a large part of betting shops business and they offer a whole range of different options and betting formats.

Along with the various single bets available on all levels of football matches, from Premier League to the lower echelons, there are also ways of placing accumulator bets on multiple games across all league games, halftime scores, full time results or even first goal scorer and online bookmakers offer them all.

There is no limit to the type of bet that can be placed on football tournaments such as Champions League, with betting being available from the initial group stages right through to the final. In the group stages there are options to select the qualifiers, group winners or losers and then betting on individual matches played throughout the competition.

When special events take place, like the FA Cup, betting adds a different level of choice for the spectator, as there are no limits to the teams that may end up playing one another. For example, lower league teams could end up playing Premiership teams, leading to additional betting choices, such as handicaps. This also gives the individual the chance to try their luck on a long shot, along with a new offering of in-game betting, which has become available thanks to the convenience of the internet.

Regardless of the Premier League betting market there will always be an aspect of a match whereby a bet can be placed and by combining the various selections will increase the odds offered. This adds an additional dimension to the original straight betting formats of old. The possibility of placing a range of bets on a football match has now taken a vast leap forward, enabling players to tailor their choices.

Choosing a safe online casino

There are so many online casinos bidding for your business, how can you tell if they are reputable? Here are a few simple guidelines to assist you in choosing a safe website.

Stay away from websites that only want hard cash. Most reputable gambling sites will accept deposits from a number of sources, for example credit cards and third party services. In general, it is always advisable to use third party payment options online, which means you avoid divulging your bank details.

It is also a good idea to check the online reputation of any website you are thinking of joining. A quick check on one of the most popular search engines should reveal if there are any unhappy customers. If you only find positive reviews, you are much more likely to be safe.

If you follow these guidelines and keep your wits about you, there is no reason why you should fall foul of a crooked online casino. Remember to always check before opening an account and depositing any money.

The Basics of Online Gambling

Online gambling is an activity that has exploded in popularity almost as fast as the internet itself. Since the inception of online gambling, it has come a long way and now the offerings by online casinos are extensive and very rewarding for the gambler.

When you first seek out online gambling, it is more than likely you will be invited to download software with the casino’s games on it. This is your first step into an immersive online experience. Most online casinos replicate the same feel and excitement you get in the real world through their software. It will include a wide range of popular games, so you can choose how you want to gamble.

When you first start out with online gambling, there are two main ways you can play without having to use any of your own money. The first is to play for simulated currency and this is something that almost all online casinos will offer, they usually describe this as ‘playing for fun.’ This provides new players with the way to familiarise themselves with the game before they risk any of their own money.

The second way to avoid using your own money is to take advantage of free bets that many online casinos offer. It is very common to see casinos offering to match a new customer’s deposit, often several times over, or just offer a onetime free bet. This can mean that you have a significant buffer against losses before you lose any of your own money and is a brilliant way to practice gambling with the buzz of it being for real.

Just as in the real world, it is important to check out the odds of the casino and how much it pays out to its customers. Regular reports are produced by casinos detailing their payouts, so make sure you find one that offers a high payout rate.

How to place a bet – a beginner’s guide

Gambling terminology may seem daunting at first, but it really is quite simple to gain enough basic knowledge to be able to place a simple bet. It is now possible to bet on the outcome of an enormous number of events; from traditional sports, like horse racing to whether or not there will be a white Christmas. You can also place your bet in different ways such as at high street bookmakers, online or even from your mobile phone; however, the basic principles will always remain the same.

Betting is simply an attempt to predict the outcome of an event and then staking an amount of money on it. If your prediction is correct, the bookmaker will pay out and you will win an amount of cash; how much you win depends on the odds. The odds are normally quoted in terms of two numbers separated by a slash, for example 29/1. If a horse has 29/1 odds, it means that if the race were run 30 times (29+1), the horse would be expected to win once. A horse ranked at 1/3 would be expected to win three times if the race was run four times (1+3), so is a much safer bet.

So how much would you receive if you bet on these horses and they won? In the case of the 29/1 odds, you would get £29 for every £1 bet. For the 1/3 odds, you would only receive £1 back for every £3 bet. Therefore, if you bet £6 on the 29/1 horse and it won, you would receive £174; if you had bet £6 on the 1/3 horse and it won, you would receive £2. But how much more unlikely is it that the horse with odds of 29/1 would win in the first place? The answer is very unlikely, which is why you need to take into account all the factors that affect the possible outcome before you stake your money.

Online Casino Bonus

In such a competitive marketplace, online gaming sites have taken their games to new heights in recent years. However, the real winning starts right when players sign up. All new members who sign up receive a bonus to use in the virtual lobby in any way they choose.

This is just one example of the many ways some sites offer players more than just their favourite games.
